Disabilities and Special Educational Needs (SEN-D)

At Bailey Green Primary School we have detailed policies for children with disabilities and/or special educational needs. There are links below to the relevant documents for you to download and read as appropriate.

General Information

The School is required to nominate persons to undertake specific responsibilities with regard to SEN-D and at Bailey Green Primary these are:

Mrs P Stonebanks: Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO)
Mrs L Taylor: The Named Person
Mrs V Badminton: The Designated Governor for SENCO

The Disabilities and Special Educational Needs (SEN-D) Policy

The School must follow strict procedures in identifying those children who experience significant difficulties in learning, and in planning individual teaching strategies to deal with these. These are detailed in the SEN-D Policy Statement.

A Parent’s guide to Special Education Needs (SEN)

This is to help parents/carers to understand how the SEN procedures operate.

Inclusion Policy

The mission statement of our school talks of valuing the individuality of all of our children. We are committed to giving all of our children every opportunity to achieve the highest of standards. We do this by taking account of pupils’ varied life experiences and needs. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and have high expectations for all children. The achievements, attitudes and well-being of all our children matter. This policy helps to ensure that this school promotes the individuality of all our children, irrespective of ethnicity, attainment, age, disability, gender or background.
