Our topic this half term is...

Cleopatra Comin' Atcha!

As part of our topic, we will be looking at Ancient Egypt and exploring the life of the Egyptians. We will be studying the different rituals they had in place and discoveries that have been made. We will be completing instruction texts based on pyramid building and creating our very own death masks.  Keep checking our website and twitter to find out what we're up to!

As part of our topic, we will be looking at natural disasters and the effect they have on the human and physical world. We will be exploring the different types of natural disasters and studying  instruction texts based on this. We will also be completing a range of Art projects around our topic. We even got our hands wet exploring plate tectonics

We have improved our basketball and rugby skills

We created our very own Seismographs to measure an earthquake

In science we have been trying to find substances which dissolve

We enjoyed learning about the Earths plates and layers in our Topic lesson.

This half term we will be looking at crime and punishment throughout British history. We will explore what sort of crimes were committed throughout history - from treason to witchcraft - and investigating how these crimes were punished.

 

We will be looking at the work of Shakespeare in detail and creating art work of famous faces throughout history.

We have been getting up close and personal looking at hair under a microscope as part of our forensic science.

In RE we were searching for words that represented forgiveness. Some beautiful designs.

We have learnt all about the parts of a computer and how they function

We will be looking at the history of George Stephenson, the mining community and Killingworth's general local history. 

Throughout our English lessons we will be focusing on persuasive writing and geordie playscripts.
