Maths Home Learning Update
As a school, we have chosen to refocus our attention in Maths on vital calculation skills.
Working at home should refresh your child's memories of calculation methods and build their confidence, supporting them ready for their return to full-time schooling (whenever that may be!).
Key Information for Maths Home Learning
You will continue your persuasive writing unit. This week we would like you to think about the topic of 'deforestation'
Watch video about deforestation in the Amazon rainforest. Look out for reasons why the rainforests are being cut down (logging, ranching, homes for landless people), and what are the effects on wildlife and to our planet?
Follow the step by step plan of creating your very own Zentanle Chameleon! Don't forget to share your finished pieces on facebook or twitter!!
Find a range of countries within rainforest areas– Brazil, Bolivia, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Guinea, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Madgascar etc. Look carefully at where these countries are. Establish that they are between the tropic of Capricorn & Cancer and some lie on the Equator. On the map; name the country, say whether it is the north, south, east, west etc of the country, name the continent and whether it is closest to the equator, tropic of cancer or tropic of Capricorn.
